Anna Purna Easter Cooking Workshop

A Reflection on the Easter Cooking Workshop at Brixton Wings

At Brixton Wings, we believe in providing our young participants with enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom. This Easter holiday, we had the privilege of partnering with Anna Purna Cafe, led by the talented Scottish MasterChef star, Brodie Williams. Together, we embarked on a culinary journey aimed at empowering our youth through the art of cooking.

Brodie, with his passion for food and dedication to his craft, graciously led 12 young people through a series of engaging workshops. The day began with a smoothie-making class, where participants learned the secrets to creating nutritious and delicious beverages using fresh ingredients. From blending fruits to balancing flavors, each participant embraced the opportunity to unleash their creativity in the kitchen.

As the day progressed, Brodie guided our young chefs through an East Asian salad workshop. With precision and care, they chopped, mixed, and plated vibrant ingredients, transforming simple vegetables into culinary works of art. Through hands-on experience, our participants not only learned essential cooking skills but also gained a deeper appreciation for the connection between food and culture.

The success of the workshop was evident in more ways than one. Beyond the culinary lessons, the experience fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the young people. As they worked together to prepare meals, laughter filled the kitchen, and friendships were formed over shared culinary experiences.

We are incredibly grateful to the 336 Community Kitchen for providing us with the space to deliver such an impactful session. Their support made it possible for us to create a welcoming environment where our participants could thrive and learn.

A special thank you goes to Brodie and his team at Anna Purna for their dedication and expertise in delivering a memorable and inspiring workshop. Their passion for food and commitment to empowering young minds left a lasting impression on all who participated.

As we reflect on this enriching experience, we are reminded of the transformative power of food. Beyond nourishing our bodies, cooking has the remarkable ability to bring people together, spark creativity, and empower individuals to explore new possibilities. We look forward to continuing our culinary adventures and empowering the next generation of chefs at Brixton Wings.
