Tereza Červeňová Photography Workshop

During our Easter holiday activities program, we had the pleasure of hosting a captivating photography workshop led by the talented artist Tereza Červeňová. The participants were immersed in the art of portraiture, getting the opportunity to explore this creative concept through a distinctive and innovative combination of collage techniques intertwined with the captivating art of photography.

Before picking up their cameras, they immersed themselves in the world of portraits by creating collages using magazines, reflecting on what defines a portrait for them personally. Under Tereza's guidance, the young people had the opportunity to experiment with both instant Polaroids and the Mamiya medium format camera.

Through hands-on experience, they honed their skills in capturing the essence of their subjects, delving into the intricacies of portraiture. Tereza's distinctive approach, characterised by the juxtaposition of delicate imagery with political and personal references, provided participants with a rich and thought-provoking learning experience.

Her emphasis on connections between the photographer and the sitter, along with her painterly and other-worldly aesthetic, added depth and meaning to the portraits created during the workshop.

Tereza's photography is distinguished by her keen focus on portraits. Encouraging individuals to intertwine personal expression with commissioned projects, she aims to enhance the narrative power of her images, allowing viewers to delve deeper into the stories they convey.
