Brixton Wings Saturday School

Our Saturday School offers an enriching blend of formal education and interactive learning, creating a dynamic environment where students and teachers collaborate to explore knowledge together. Our sessions focus on STEM subjects such as Maths, Science, and General Knowledge, alongside engaging explorations in Geography, where students uncover the wonders of the world through mapping, design, and hands-on activities.

12 Brixton Wings Saturday School students joined an engineering workshop at the Great Exhibition Road Festival. Partnering with upCYCLE LDN and Imperial College London, student Alex Clarke led them in co-creating a wooden bicycle frame from salvaged parts. Activities included mini-frame building, brainstorming qualities of a good bike, and assembling and decorating the full-size frame, all while wearing lab coats and safety gear.

Saturday School is not confined to the classroom; it extends into the world. In a memorable outing, eight young people from Brixton Wings experienced the powerful themes of political influence and social dynamics through a performance of Coriolanus at the National Theatre. This immersive journey into live theatre provided an unforgettable blend of storytelling, set design, and cultural representation.
